slow learner
I was admittedly slow with coming to understand Rodarte. The collections didn't make a ton of sense to me until Fall 07 -- at which point it became about more than craft and a good story about two girls in a Pasadena basement, or bedroom, or wherever. Some of it had to do with their increased exposure: the more they spoke, the more I crushed out; they referenced (and still do) movies, and art that excite me, and that leave me wanting to learn more. This stuff is magical. And years after my tenure with target collabs, I feel incredibly jealous that I won't take part in theirs. Amazing video with Tavi, and Laura and Kate here.

The 1939 movie Stagecoach created three icons: John Wayne, John Ford, and the 30,000 acres of glory on the Utah-Arizona border known as Monument Valley. It was a pioneering rancher, Harry Goulding, who brought Hollywood to his home, and helped shape America’s vision of the West.
